Lash extension FAQ
Your questions,
answered.
Answers to the questions we hear most — from first-time clients curious about the process to long-time regulars keeping their lashes at their best.
Arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes. Remove contact lenses before the appointment — you’ll be lying with eyes closed for 1–2 hours. Avoid caffeine if you tend to fidget, and don’t curl your natural lashes beforehand. That’s it — we handle everything else.
For lash appointments, arrive with no eye makeup — mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow must all be removed before we begin. A little base or lip colour is fine. For brow appointments, arrive with no brow makeup so we can see your natural brow shape clearly.
A full Classic set takes approximately 90 minutes. Volume and Mega Volume sets can take 2–2.5 hours. Refills are 60 minutes. Lash lifts are 60 minutes. Brow lamination with tint and sculpt is approximately 60 minutes. We always book with enough time — we never rush.
We start with a brief consultation to understand the look you’re after and assess your natural lashes. We’ll recommend a style and curl that suits your eye shape and lash health. Then you relax while we apply each extension individually. You’ll leave with a full set and a personalised aftercare walkthrough.
A full set typically lasts 3–5 weeks depending on your natural lash growth cycle, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare. A refill at 2–3 weeks keeps your set looking fresh. More than 23 days or fewer than 30% lashes remaining means you’ll need a new full set.
A keratin lash lift typically lasts 6–8 weeks — aligned to your natural lash growth cycle. Results fade gradually as new lashes grow in straight. Most clients book a top-up every 6–8 weeks. Following the 24-hour aftercare window is the single biggest factor in longevity.
Brow lamination typically lasts 6–8 weeks, depending on brow hair texture, growth cycle, and aftercare. Results fade gradually as new brow hairs grow in at their natural angle. Following the 24-hour aftercare window — keeping brows completely dry — is the single biggest factor in how long results last.
Book your refill within 2–3 weeks for best results. Refill eligibility: 1 week (5–9 days), 2 weeks (10–16 days with 60%+ lashes remaining), 3 weeks (17–20 days with 40%+ remaining). Refills take 60 minutes. More than 23 days or fewer than 30% lashes requires a new full set.
Avoid water, steam, and oil-based products for the first 24 hours. After that, clean your lashes daily with a lash-safe foaming cleanser — dirty lashes hold less well and risk irritation. Avoid rubbing your eyes and sleeping face-down. We’ll walk you through everything at your appointment.
Avoid swimming, saunas, and sweaty exercise for the first 24 hours while the adhesive cures fully. After that, swimming and exercise are fine — just rinse your lashes with clean water after and brush them through gently when dry. Chlorine and saltwater won’t damage extensions when followed by good aftercare.
Avoid oil-based cleansers, moisturisers, and makeup removers around the eye area — oil breaks down lash adhesive and reduces retention. Avoid waterproof mascara on extensions for the same reason. Use a dedicated lash-safe foaming cleanser and water-based eye products only.
For both treatments: keep the treated area completely dry for 24 hours. Avoid steam, saunas, swimming pools, and heavy exercise. After that, avoid oil-based products directly on brows or lashes. For brow lamination, brush brows upward daily with a clean spoolie to maintain direction.
Classic lashes attach one extension to each natural lash — natural and defined. Volume lashes (3D–4D) use multiple ultra-fine extensions per lash for a fuller, fluffy look. Mega Volume (up to 10D) is the most intense — maximum density for those who want to make a real statement. Natural lash suitability must be assessed before Mega Volume.
Lash extensions attach individual synthetic extensions to your natural lashes — adding length, curl, and volume that last 3–5 weeks with refills. A lash lift permanently curls your natural lashes using a keratin solution, with no added material. Lifts last 6–8 weeks and require zero maintenance. Extensions require refills every 2–3 weeks.
A Classic full set starts from $125. Volume sets start from $155. Mega Volume from $195. Refills are priced separately depending on the set type and time since last appointment. View the full pricing breakdown on our Services page, or book via Fresha where pricing is listed for every service.
Yes — we offer brow lamination (with tint and sculpt), brow shaping and tint, and henna brow tinting. Each service can be booked individually or combined. Brow lamination with full sculpt and tint is our most popular brow service. View the full brow menu on our Brow Services page.

Many clients with sensitive eyes have extensions without issue. The most common irritant is the adhesive — if you’ve never had extensions before, we can perform a patch test at a separate appointment before your full set. If you have a known allergy to cyanoacrylate (lash adhesive), please let us know before booking.
Yes — just remove your contact lenses before the appointment and bring your glasses. You’ll have your eyes closed for the duration. Once your set is complete and any residual fumes have cleared (a few minutes), you can reinsert your lenses. We work with contact lens wearers regularly.
Please disclose any previous reactions when booking. Reactions can range from mild irritation (often from fumes during application) to a true adhesive allergy. We can discuss lower-sensitivity adhesive options, patch testing, or whether a lash lift might be a better fit for you. Your safety and comfort always come first.
